Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP is proud to announce that three of its attorneys have been selected for the 2019 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America, compiled by US News and World Report, for their work in Family Law. Congratulations to Jacqueline NewmanBarry Berkman, and Marc Fleisher for this honor. The entire firm has also been named by US News and World Report in its annual ranking of the Best Law Firms in America.

Jacqueline Newman is the firm’s managing partner. This summer, Jacqueline celebrated her 20th year with Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP, where she started as a law school intern while attending Cardozo School of Law. Jacqueline’s practice focuses on the litigation and negotiation of divorces, and the negotiation and drafting of pre- and post-nuptial agreements. She is also the author of two tell-all guides to divorce: “Soon-To-Be-Ex, A Woman’s Guide to Her Perfect Divorce and Relaunch” and “Soon-To-Be-Ex For Men, Preserving Wealth, Fatherhood & Sanity During Divorce.” This is Jacqueline’s fourth straight year being recognized by Best Lawyers.

Barry Berkman is a founding partner of Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP. Early in his legal career, Barry recognized that the emotional turmoil of divorce litigation was not suited to all clients. As a co-founder of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals, he joined an emerging movement to popularize alternate dispute resolution of matrimonial matters. He is now recognized as one of the leading divorce mediators and collaborative attorneys in New York, and has earned a reputation for his ability to steer high net worth clients who wish to keep their private lives private to discrete and highly satisfactory resolutions.  This is his ninth year in a row being inducted into The Best Lawyers in America.

Marc Fleisher is of counsel to Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP, and has focused his practice on divorce mediation and collaborative law since 1994. In 1999, Marc co-founded the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals, which helped to spread and standardize collaborative divorce practice in the Greater New York area. Marc has taught divorce mediation and collaboration to both law students and attorneys at Cardozo Law, Brooklyn Law School, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Us News and World Report’s Best Lawyers in America recognizes the top four percent of practicing attorneys in the United States, based on peer and client reviews and rankings. We congratulate Jacqueline, Barry, and Marc on achieving this high honor.

We also thank all the partners and associates of Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP for helping us be recognized by US News and World Report as one of the Best Law Firms in America, for our work in Family Law.
